QueerHustle U: The Online Course Hub for Queer Learning
QueerHustle U has officially been launched!!!
Cool! Why should you be excited? Keep reading to find out.
QueerHustle U (QHU) is the new global hub for queer learning and educating. We wanted to create a platform where queer people could teach and learn from each other. Sounds pretty awesome, right?
QueerHustle U is super easy to use and better yet, it’s free for all instructors! You create a course on whatever you want and we’ll sell it for you.
If you don’t have a course yet, no worries! You can easily create one on Podia (our personal fave), or anywhere else online.
If you already have a course, amazing! All you have to do is submit your course to us here.
If you’re feeling intrigued but have no idea how to create an online course, let me break it down. This doesn’t have to be a difficult process. In fact, it’s a great way to add another tool to your business’s arsenal and offer your clients even more value.
If you want to create an online course, follow these 4 steps:
- Decide what you want to teach.
The best courses solve a problem for someone. They aren’t just generic lessons. So, when you’re brainstorming what your course could be, make sure you can answer the question, “What problem am I solving?”
- Write out the main points to get from A to B.
What are the key points your students need to learn in order to solve the overall problem? List them out.
- Record videos for each point.
Your course videos don’t need to be long, but they need to be thorough. They need to be direct and easy to watch. Which means, know what you want/need to say before you start recording. Avoid using fillers like “umm,” and make sure you’ve got appropriate lighting and sound quality. That’s it!
- Consider including worksheets (we love Canva for this!).
You don’t have to include worksheets, but they will add more value to your online course material. And, if you want to connect with hands-on learners, worksheets are a great tool they can print out and use to follow along.
See what I mean? Easy! So, if you’re a queer entrepreneur/freelancer/creative or have a brilliant idea for a course you could teach, come join us! If you’re ready to get your online course out to the world, the QueerHustle team is ready for you!
Who else in your community might want to teach something? Be a connection maker and share this post with them! It might be exactly what they’re looking for.
